Debtors Anonymous is patterned after Alcoholics Anonymous. We use the 12 steps and 12 traditions of AA as well as the 12 tools of Debtors Anonymous to guide us in our recovery.
It is suggested you attend six Debtors Anonymous (DA) meetings in a period of two weeks before you decide if DA is right for you. Because there are not meetings in every area of Florida, many DA members attend phone meetings. You are not alone
If you feel underearning, overspending and compulsive shopping are your problem. Or if you own your own business and have issues of debting for your business, please know many of our members with similar issues have found recovery through DA.
Preamble of Debtors Anonymous
Debtors Anonymous (DA) is a fellowship of men and women who share
their experience, strength and hope with one another that they may solve
their common problem and help others recover from compulsive debting.
The only requirement for membership in Debtors Anonymous is a desire to
stop incurring unsecured debt. There are no dues or fees for DA
membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. DA is
not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution;
does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes
any causes. Our primary purpose is to stop debting one day at a time and to
help other compulsive debtors to stop incurring unsecured debt.
